Memoir, ca. 1908.

Book of poems and memories of everyday life, romance, and the Civil War. It includes a story of Thomas Place's first Christmas. On page 443 there is an autobiography with a preface dated New York, Nov. 6, 1908. Included in the volume are detailed writings of Place's service in the Civil War with Troop H, 1st Regiment of Mounted Rifles, N.Y.S.V., and a description of the inspection of his regiment by Abraham Lincoln (p.481-522).
